Copper sulfate or copper sulphate is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula CuSO4. It is also called ‘cupric sulfate’. Copper sulphate occurs as a number of compounds with varying amounts of crystallization water. For example, its dry (aqueous) crystals are white or pale yellow-green in color while the pentahydrate (CuSO4 5H2O) is bright blue in colour. Its pentahydrate form is the most commonly found form.
